Description

This product is made up of several components, each of which work together to reduce the noise levels onboard your vessel. 1lb/sqft flexible PVC vinyl barrier with ¾ inch thick poly ether polyurethane closed cell foam absorber, a ¼ inch thick closed cell foam de coupler and a reinforced aluminized polyester film facing. Noise is reduced in two ways. The foam layer absorbs reverberant noise within the enclosure. The 1lb/sqft barrier layer adds mass to the structure, reducing the amount of energy (lower frequencies) blowing through the structure (example -engine covers, bulkheads). The aluminized facing protects the acoustical foam and also enhances the absorption in certain frequencies. The large absorbing component (3/4”) works very well on the noise range produced by diesel and gasoline engines. Great for engine rooms, motor, boxes and generator enclosures.
